Protective style: flat twists and low bun

Protective styles are useful if you're trying to retain length and grow out your hair. When the ends of your hair, the oldest part of your hair, is tucked away the style is protective.

This style works on both transitioning and natural hair, and is really easy and versatile. With the front in flat twists you can pull your hair into a low bun like in the video, a top knot, or a side bun.

Do you wear protective styles? What's one of your favorite protective styles?

  1. I really like the way you created these two styles. I plan to try this out. I discovered your blog via Curly Nikki. I like the Curl Enhancing Smoothie - I also add shea butter and other oils(usually coconut) . Thanks for sharing!
